How To Prepare For PSLE Mental Tips

Preparing for the Primary School Leaving Examinations is a long process and it takes a strong mind to delight through the entire process and do well in the end and meet the goal that has been set forth by both parent and child. Therefore preparing oneself mentally is a great giant step towards making steps to start the engine and get the preparation going.

Here is an acronym P.S.L.E. of four mental tips to help get you started with preparing for PSLE mentally.

P - Prepare Early
S - Study Conducively
L - Learn Daily
E - Exercise Regularly

P - Prepare Early.
It is common sense. But it is this constant reminder that will make a difference from turning words into action. Preparing early for PSLE will be a move that ensures all necessary revision and practice are covered and nothing gets left behind. There are of course some students who can still do well in the last minutes or last seconds, but these are the exceptions. Being prepared early will send a message to our minds and hearts that there are no regrets at the end of the examination, saying 'Oops! I regret I did not revise enough for that topic and did not know if I did the question correctly.' You may read up on more details posted on this site on how to prepare for each of the respective subjects.

S - Study Conducively.
It is common sense again. Of course we need a conducive place and time to study and revise for the examinations. It is not easy but it can be done and it takes lots of discipline to do it. With so many distractions each day, it is rarely you can find a conducive and safe place to study. But it is a worthwhile search to find that place and time so that it optimizes the revision time and concentration level. You will agree that it takes a while sometimes to settle down in places like community libraries and study areas. There is just too much movements and conversations. One other thing to fully concentrate to keep all the gadgets out of sight and in silent mode or off mode. Once these things are out of sight and only your revision notes are in sight, you can really focus and complete the revision in a timely fashion.

L - Learn Daily.
Learning is a lifetime process and journey. Every day presents itself with plenty of opportunities to learn and even better, learn to improve. Therefore as a student in pursuit of academic achievement, while preparing for the examinations, there are so much to learn and increase in knowledge and insight. It could just be learning a new way of solving the Mathematics problem sum or a new discovery of a Science fact which intrigues you or an English word or Mother Tongue phrase that is so deep in its meaning. Even with these lessons, they can be translated to greater lessons for friends and family as well as prepare oneself for next level of the education journey.

E - Exercise Regularly.
This is also common sense, but it is sometimes an advice most ignored and or given the least priority. We cannot escape the reality of a tired body when it comes with continuous study and learning. An exhausted body makes a poor productive time of study and revision. Therefore it is as important as study to schedule regular exercise time throughout the revision timetable. The body needs the break from the daily facing of books and computers to go for a run at the park or walk in the garden. This allows the other parts of the body to work out as well, for example your eyes to look at the greeneries, your arms and limbs to stretch and relax, your joints to loosen a bit and your hearts and lungs to have fresh breath of air.

P.S.L.E. It is more than just preparing for the national examinations. It gears you up with preparing you mentally for future challenges in life.
